The Taming Sari Tower, also known as Menara Taming Sari, is one of Malacca’s most iconic attractions, located in the heart of the historic city. Standing at 110 meters tall, it is Malaysia’s first and only rotating observation tower. The tower offers a unique experience where visitors are taken on a revolving ride that ascends to the top, providing a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Malacca and its surroundings.
Named after the
legendary Taming Sari keris (a traditional Malay dagger believed to possess
mystical powers). The design of the tower itself is inspired by the shape of
the Taming Sari keris, making it a symbol of local heritage and pride. The
entire experience lasts approximately 7 minutes, during which visitors can view
several prominent landmarks, including Dutch buildings, St. Paul’s Hill, the
Strait of Malacca, and modern structures like shopping malls and hotels. At
night, the view is equally spectacular, with the city lights creating a
dazzling display.
